League Announcements

After much discussion, it was decided after many years to allow any manager to form a team and submit a roster with the following rules and stipulations:

  • A manager may submit a roster with a maximum of 10 players from Milford.
  • The manager agrees to take additional players assigned to them by the Babe Ruth Board from the individual sign-up pool not already registered to a team for a maximum team size of up to 15 players. All Babe Ruth rules and stipulations must be followed.
  • The manager must abide by the MINIMUM PLAYING TIME RULES established by
    Milford Babe Ruth.
  • The age breakdown criteria will apply for the make up of the 14/15 year old division.
  • NO draft.
  • Players must be Milford residents. Tax bill, UI bill and/or phone bill of parent or legal guardian along with the players birth certificate will be acceptable forms of ID if requested.
  • The board will decide how additional players are placed on teams based on team size and ability of the player. The Board Decision is Final.
  • A Manager will be allowed to have a team regardless of Milford residency or the fact that they don't have a player on their team.
  • League ages will apply to players.
  • Practice Field time will be assigned once the teams have been formalized

Additional Note:
The initial cost to play will be for a normal Babe Ruth Schedule. There will also be a travel Babe Ruth schedule that will be offered to any team who wants to participate at an additional cost.

Any player picked for Any Tournament Team is required to pay an additional cost for each tournament entered.

We are pleased to announce we received our $50,000 grant from the State. Our thanks to Senator Gail Slossberg, former House Speaker Rep. Jim Amann and Rep. Richard Roy for their “hard” work in securing those funds for us. We have purchased a new shed, new cage net, equipment, improved our cage, fences, and ball fields. We still need to complete some fence, dugout, and field work. We made very needed improvements to our softball fields - backstops, dugouts, fieldwork, and bleachers. More work is going to be scheduled there too!. This is another way our league is trying to improve our facilities and make them a safe premier place to play Baseball & Softball.
